The product was more than simply a cookbook, it was also a history book that gives a glimpse of the Provincetown of yesterday using anecdotes and photographs of the author's own family. The cherished old and traditional Portuguese recipes are those my own grandmother used to prepare in Hawaii (where there was another large turn-of-the-century Portuguese settlement. I now vacation in Provincetown during the summer. This book is like a bridge the connects my past with my life today.

  • It's one of my favorite recipe books. Lots of traditional memories

  • Traditional Portuguese Recipes from Provincetown

This actually has a recipe for Portuguese Sweet Bread that appears to be the same as or very similar to my fiance's mothers recipe. She passed away many years ago and there wasn't a copy of it anywhere. I've been searching for one with ingredients he remembers from his childhood. This appears to be it! Other recipes appear to be simple, direct and sound delicious. Once we've tried them, we'll be better able to review this.
