Ricky Gervais Fame
Gervais has once again succeeded in coming up with a stage performance, recorded and marketed on this DVD, that will have people (who like his genre of comedy) laughing a lot, cringing at times, and almost fighting to keep the dinner down at some of the rib-tickling material presented. You'll like this if you like, e.g., Mock the Week, Extras, South Park, Team America World Police. WARNING! A very biased review from a huge gervais fan
This is the same as the previous two stand ups from Ricky Gervais - if you love Ricky, you'll love the DVD. If you don't like Ricky and think he's a pompus arse then I'm afraid this will just confirm your opinions and the fact that you don't get sarcasm. Though I feel he will never beat Animals, Ricky is on form (especially during his encore with the Sharon Osbourne/Chris Tarrant story). However, unlike Animals and Politics, he very rarely sticks to the actual subject of Fame - but who cares, he's hilarious! Oh and for fans of the podcasts he shares several one liners that Karl "the legend" Pilkington has elivered unto the world. Ricky enters as the King of Comedy with Queen's 'One Vision' playing which is funny already! Throughout the show he touches on some boundaries but limits them so he can make a hilarious joke out of it! People complain he's too offensive to those suffering in Africa and disabled people. If so, why does he give heaps of money to charity and open his first couple of gigs with proceeds going to charity? One of my favourite parts is his encore. He talks of an incident that occured when he saw X-Factor live and what happened during a commercial break with Chris Tarrant and Sharon Osbourne.Ricky enters as the King of Comedy with Queen's 'One Vision' playing which is funny already!
