Refurbished - as new.
Having read some bad reviews of GoPros sold as refurbished I was somewhat nervous ordering this, however it is as new. The image quality in good lighting is excellent for both video and still shots. Excellent value for money compared to purchase of a new camera, albeit without all the latest bells and whistles.

Cant recommend it
First the software for the computer, it is a load of crap, can't handle more than 96 pictures for the time laps video. The controls of the camera is not that easy, at least I found an app for the phone, that helps some. No, I would not recommend it for people with large fingers. Simply not worth the money.

Versatile easy to use fun camcorder
I bought the Go Pro three as it size, spec and various accessories was ideal for my requirements. I have mainly used it as a safety tool for my cycle commute to work, the camera fits nicely on the handle bars of my bike. I also use it for scuba diving, the water proof housing is great for the depths that we dive and is durable enough for the riggers of a dive boat. additional accessories were easily attainable, custom filters etc to counter act the white balance issues at depth. The downside was down loading the software updates and syncing the Go Pro, but once achieved, the clever smart phone live view and control function soon over came the effort.I bought the Go Pro three as it size, spec and various accessories was ideal for my requirements. Excellent product for low budget, great fun, occasionally unreliable
My son bought this with his hard-saved pocket money, as he loves film and photography. He ended up using it for his GCSE Art project, and intends to use it for A level photography. What you get for your money is extremely good value: high quality time-lapse and slow motion video. However, to fit this into the price they've had to sacrifice some basic features: 1 - no viewfinder whatsoever, it's point, shoot and hope. 2 - there's no sleep/wakeup function, so extended time-lapse (e.g. 1 frame per hour for 2 days) isn't possible, as the battery runs down. 3 - the battery life is miserable, even with the extension pack I think it's only 2 hours. We're looking at ways of wiring it up to a DC supply for extended functioning, but that will involve soldering and electronics. Finally, every so ... Apparently these can be recovered. However, my son was given a gift of a helicopter ride recently, and was very excited to take video from the cockpit with this camera. But, when he got back down to earth, all the video he shot was corrupted, and we haven't managed to unscramble it yet. He was very disappointed. On the whole, though, we still rate it as excellent value, way ahead of anything else available in this price bracket, we've had a lot of fun with it, and it's getting him good exam grades in his art for an affordable price. Just don't try to shoot that once-in-a-generation news event, like the Berlin Wall coming down, with it just in case the files are corrupted ;-)

Not cheap but a nice product that will grow on me with use
The camera is really good in most respects and the only reason I have not rated it higher is due to the difficulty that I have experienced understanding how to operate it and in particular using the settings. There is an app that looks to make everything simpler to do using an iphone, but I don't yet have one. I did read a write up on the remote that can be bought and felt that the outlay would be wasted as it would not be used enough with my current Kayaking requirement. I use VLC player to play back video and still shots and also find this a little confusing. I'm sure that time will enable a better understanding of all the above. It would have been nice to have been supplied with an SD card instead of having to get one as an additional item. The camera does not function ... There seem to be a multitude of accessories------why are some not supplied as standard items. The floaty back would seem an obvious thing and very cheap to make, but not cheap to buy. I have bought 3 spare batteries, but to be honest, I have not found battery life to be too bad for my usage. I have a 32gb SD card installed and another as a spare. I have not yet found that the spare has been needed as I remove everything from the card after downloading to the PC. The cover over the Micro ports seems to be a sure thing to loose as I am forever forgetting to replace it after downloading. Playback can be "jumpy" if done from the camera to a PC. This does not happen if the HDMI connection to the TV is used. Downloading to the PC is recommended.
