Classic chiller, disappointing vide0o.
One of the all-time science-fiction/terror classics from the 1950s is the original B&W INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS directed by Don Siegel. It remains an effective mixture of horror and cold-war type paranoia.
Unfortunately, while the quality of the print used is excellent, the distributor/manufacturer, Oliver Films, does its usual tactic, namely just providing but nothing else, not even the trailer for the movie. If you bought it commercial in a store, if you could find it, you would pay probably nearly $20 or a bit more. But all you would get is the feature. Period.
The previous release, via Republic Pictures Video, before it was bought up by Paramount Picture...of which I am sure that Olive Films is a subsidiary of...had extras, including the original trailers (in full screen) and a TV interview with the film's star, Kevin Mccarthy from the 1980s.
If you can find that edition, in the Silver Screen Classics series, on ebay. Both editions are low priced but if you buy the Olive Films version (which has the original poster art on the cover) be prepared to get just the feature and nothing else.
My feeling on the subject.
