About this product

Product Information

Bowe travels around the nation to report on the slave labor that our government and corporations depend on, but are trying their best to disavow or ignore. He presents a sobering look at the moral costs of the cheap goods to which our economy has grown so accustomed.

  • Sad but true

Each chapter in the book examines a different case of labor abuse/slavery in modern USA, ranging in location from farms in Florida to brothels in Saipan. It is almost hard to believe things like this are happening in the 21st century in one of the most advanced Western countries. Yet, the evidence is overwhelming and the details are depressing. Anybody who thinks slavery doesn't exist in First World countries, like USA, should read this book as a reminder about the dark side of human nature. Too bad that it is unlikely the book will reach the millions of people who dream every day to immigrate and live in the USA.
