I remember Silent Hill pretty much when I had it years ago. It really is a great and creepy horror game in a similar vein as Resident Evil but without zombies. The atmosphere is really spooky and you never know what is going to come out of the fog.

Disc is in great shape. The case on the other hand not so much. Almost looks like it came from a smokers house with some yellowing. The picture didn't do it justice.

Despite the age of this game, the gameplay is both compelling and challenging, but still manageable. Most games as old are either boring because they're too easy or boring because they're too hard to play. Silent Hill has such a nice learning curve that someone like me who has never played it could still wade through.

I recently got into horror games and Resident evil 2 was my first experience. I will say it really did scare me. At one point, where zombies burst through the window and attacked me, I had to turn the game off and resume days later. Its easily understood why Resident evil 2 is considered to be one of the top horror games of all time. However, I began to hear about Silent Hill. I looked up for peoples top 10 or 5 horror games and at least 1 game from the Silent Hill series was on the list. It is known for its psycholgical horror rather than pop-up-and-scare-you horror. So, when I got my copy I could only expect the best. Fortunately, that's exactly what I got and more. The atmosphere it brings about is very disturbing and dark. The infamous fog and darkness, of course, generate this feeling. It's really impossible to see anything beyond the fog or darkness causing the player to depend almost solely on sound (the handy radio which plays static when near enemies). The part about the game that really creeped me out was the 'other world.' Everytime I am there, there are always dead bodies hung on the walls, which are covered in rust and dried blood, and crazy monsters. Also, there were many parts in the game where a loud BANG or CRASH would sound, but nothing would happen. Very unsettling. :) A downside of the game, for me, was the voice acting. While not as tragic as the voice acting in the original Resident Evil, there is still some work to be done. I feel like if the voice acting was more realistic, than the game would have been even scarier (which is hard to imagine because the game is already scary as-is). Also, the player doesn't get the full story in one round of the game. It may take multiple completions in order for the full story to be revealed. This may or not be a good thing (especially for players who find this game super scary, like me!). The controls are a bit slow to react, which is really a bummer when you're trying to run away from a horde of monsters. Even with its outdated graphics and poor voice acting, Silent Hill is a game that will distill fear and disturbance.Read full review
This was one of my nostalgic games I played as a kid and frightened me so bad lol. Great buy. Completes are almost 179 plus. I just got a reproduction case for this. So it costed me less. Has a little wear and tear on front label but other than that it's in good condition.
