  • Of its time

An excellent film for lovers of the Holmes genre. It’s of its time in terms of production values but with that caveat it’s well worth a viewing.

  • Simply the best

I'm a person that think the Sherlock Holmes he's best hero, for to understand better this man I want to by more videos.

  • sherlock holmes

great version, ian richardson was a supberb holmes. like holmes? you will love this. only sour point was, donald churchil was as bad a watson, as richardson was a great holmes. still a great film, though.

  • Massively disappointing

You'd think a film starring Martin Shaw would be half-decent, wouldn't you? Well, in this instance you'd be WRONG. All the outside scenes of (supposedly) Baker Street had the roads and pavements absolutely covered with inches of fallen leaves. Ermmm, excuse me? This IS supposed to be Central London in the Victorian era and although Regents Park isn't that far away, there would certainly not have been akin to a forest floor. The rest of the "period" features were of the same kind - in fact the 1930s Basil Rathbone black and white film was much more in keeping with the alleged period. VERY disappointing and went straight to the local charity shop.
