A classic picture of what was called "NEW AMERICAN HORROR" during the '70s. Real nightmare where Tobe Hooper points the finger on the America of that period: a sort of neverending fall in the vortex of violence, fear and the death of american dream. From first to last seconds there is the sensation of something sick, mysterious and even a sense of humor can appear like a bad sign for things to come..... This edition is really one of the best realized. Surely suggested to everyone, not only the collectors. And I dare to confirm that's not only for horror fans, but for those who wanna know what the cinema of the '70s meant to be. But in this case, even if violence is not so explicit (better say, this is not a splatter!) you must be some hard of stomach..... A milestone in cinema (pay ... The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This is an absolute classic. You have lived in a cave if you did not see this. For the youngsters out there check this out. This film started it all - the slasher phenomenon but immensely better. No nee to reveal plot lines, just experience raw shredding tension and high stakes terror. 3 disc version is awesome. Hours of viewing, insight and enlightenment. 10 / 10
