Roger Moore in "CROSSPLOT" (1969)
I remember seeing "Crossplot" which was last screened in the early '90's, and sadly not broadcast on British Television since. So i decided to buy the dvd to jog my memory. Made in 1969, it's a reminder of Roger Moore's previous role as "The Saint" and what was still to come... The movie leans towards the ITC-style crime/detective shows of the day, with obvious scenes of background projection! Moore is drawn into a web of corruption and tries to stop an assassination attempt, overall, a joy to watch!!I remember seeing "Crossplot" which was last screened in the early '90's, and sadly not broadcast on British Television since. Roger plays an Advertising Executive who becomes involved in a plot between spies when he searches and employs a woman to star in publicity shots. He ends up rescuing the woman. It is set in the swinging sixties - Austin Powers-style. The film was a great vehicle which enabled Roger Moore in his transfer from the Saint character to the Bond character.A stylish and watchable but unexceptional effort from Roger Moore and Alexis Kanner.
