This is an all encompassing book from Matthew Lesko on getting funding to start or expand your business. It lists sources of free professional help, grants, and loans from the federal government and from all states. It also gives an overview of money and services available from local governments, non-profit organizations, venture capitalists and so on. Special sections in the book address services and funding available to the disabled, minorities, women, and veterans. The book gives addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and websites. Where possible, names of points of contact are given though these may become dated very quickly. Could you find all of this information yourself at the library or on the internet? Yes, you could. But, it would take you a long time. Matthew and his team have done the research for you. All you have to do is make the contacts and apply for the funds. No, they don't do that for you! This is a great resource for ANY business seeking start-up or expansion money. Many examples are used that cover a wide range of businesses. You may even get some "new to you" ideas. This book is highly recommended for anyone willing to do the actual paperwork that just needs to know where to start.Read full review
This is a GREAT book! The most surprising part was that it was about twice the size of the normal 'FREE MONEY' book by Lesko, which measures 9x6x1.5 inches. THIS ONE, with small writing, is 11x8.5x2! The information is completely mind-boggling! I never guessed there was that much information that could be disseminated on this topic! The info, however, is easily found, logically arranged, easy to follow, and very user friendly. I am very pleased and will be using this reference for extensively! :-)
I like it because it gives you all the information you need to get money from the government. The only thing was that it was $40, but it is well worth it.
