About this product

Product Information

An extraordinary mix of black humor, fake entertainment programs, and pastiche articles, the Wipers Times, the famed trench newspaper of World War One, constitutes a unique record of life on the front line. This complete facsimile edition of the paper, produced to accompany a BBC dramatization, is a historical masterpiece that enables us to sample the real spirit of the trenches--from the safety of our armchairs.

There was a problem with this order, but I was very quickly given a refund and apologies, and the problem itself was quite simple and understandable. Despite encountering a problem, I would happily buy from this seller again; not only did they provide good service, but the item arrived quickly, was reasonably priced, and had a reasonably detailed description.

Efficient and prompt service. Item as described and value for money. There was a delay in receiving the original item but my enquiry as to the problem was answered immediately and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction without further delay. I would recommend this seller for service and value for money.

  • A very interesting reflection at an appalling time.

You get what you expect from this book. The humour may not be riotous but considering the appalling conditions of the time the fact that there was any humour at all is amazing. Its the sort of book you will dip in and out of.

  • Painfully funny

This copy was in excellent, only slightly used condition. The content is another thing, at once horrifying and a remarkable insight into the way in which humour allows us to cope with unthinkable, unimaginable circumstances.
