McDermott is just a fun guy, who I would prefer not to hang around with. The drinking which brings on out of control behavior, and his oh well ,"I guess we had fun attitude, made him the clown of the club house. It's a great story, and Mickey would have been one of the greatest pitchers of all time, but the drinking did him in. It's a great read, and the stories about some really famous ballplayers makes it great fun to read. Mickey McDermott: I wish I could have meant him.
