apparently there were different soundtracks for different releases (PAL/NTSC) and this isn't exactly the same tracklisting as i had on my version of the game. also most of the songs worked better in the game than just listening without.

This C.D. Album is definitely for those who are into Electronic Music. This is a great Soundtrack C.D. for the Wipeout 2097 Game, including excellent artists with The Future Sound Of London - Fluke - Leftfield - Underworld - Orbital - Source Direct - Photek - Prodigy - The Chemical Brothers - Daft Punk. There are a few tracks on the album which are not the best; like track 7. But altogether a great mix.
A timeless classic from some techno masters which deserves to be played over and over. Orbitals petrol is definitely my hypnotic favourite and it is worth buying the album for this track alone. Other tracks have a theme tune sound with intersting melodies or dramatic and involving rhythms which make it a pleasure to listen too. On the downside it may not be your cup of tea of you are into more acoustic tracks. Also a great reminder of a classic game which I spent hours playing partly for having such a good sound track which added immense depth and atmosphere to a classic game.
This is as techno as you want, and you can pick it up cheap, BUT for some reason it does not contain the tracks Body in Motion or Landmass, which were on the Playstation game. Which is a bit sad 'cos they were my faves.
