Synopsis
From the author of the all-time bestselling "Star Wars" novel, "Heir to the Empire," comes this thrilling, fast-paced space adventure., Frank Compton used to be an agent for the security forces of Earth, but that was a piece of cake compared to what he's had to deal with working for the aliens who run the Quadrail, an interstellar transportation system connecting a dozen civilizations across the galaxy. He's been trying to end the domination of an alien lifeform called the Modhri. This enormously powerful creature wants to rule the galaxy by controlling the thoughts of all its citizens. It does so by having parts of itself "infect" others on contact, and act as agents for it without them being aware they're being manipulated. When Frank and his assistant Bayta journey to investigate a connection between the Modhri and the Filiaelians, they come up against a conspiracy on the Quadrail. Passengers are being murdered...but something besides murder haunts the Quadrail. A plot is brewing that even the Modhri fears. And once again, Frank and Bayta may be the only ones who can stop it.

- e***a (272)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseOrdered from USA and arrived to me in UK about 10 days later. Book appropriately packaged and mostly as described. Was missing the cd as listed but communication with the seller was friendly and polite if not a little confusing - partial refunds are only offered after you start the formal eBay return request process, they aren't capable of giving refunds after simple messaging to customer service. All in all though, great value and a positive transaction. Would interact again 👍
- e***- (123)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseUnfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.
- h***r (190)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseHave ordered books a number of times from ThriftBooks, via eBay, over the years, and the transactions have always been super-smooth. It was the same way this time. Sturdy packaging for the shipments. Condition / appearance of books was even better than described. As always, an excellent value, particularly with the free shipping as well as the promotional discount for ordering three or more books at a time. Love it!
