SynopsisNineteen interconnected stories set in the world of rabbits. In one of them the rabbit hero, El-ahrairah, obtains for his people the sense of smell, in another he saves them from an invasion by rats. A sequel to the 1974 novel, Watership Down, 2 cassettes / 3 hoursRead by Nigel HaversWatership Down was one of this century's best-loved works of imaginative literature. Now Richard Adams returns, to tell us what happened to the rabbits after their defeat of General Woundwort.Tales From Watership Down begins with some of the great folk stories well known to all rabbits. Then we listen in as Dandelion, the rabbits' master storyteller, relates the thrilling adventures experienced by Al-ahrairah, the mythical rabbit hero, and his stalwart, Rabscuttle, during the long journey home after their terrible encounter with the Black Rabbit of Inle (as narrated in Watership Down). Finally, in the principal part of the book, we are told eight enchanting stories about the rabbits of the Down-- Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig, and their companions--including the impact on the warren of the obsessive doe Flyairth, and the appointment of Hyzenthlay as a female Chief Rabbit and partner to Hazel. All listners-- the millions who remember Watership Down with the deepest affection, and also those for whom this volume will be their first encounter with the rabbits-- will find these nineteen tales utterly compelling, the fruit of Richard Adams spellbinding narrative power and ability to conjure up a world that is at the same time both real and unreal."

  • Picture shows it.

This is one of the most compelling true to life ,so much so you can smell the fields; and feel love and fear these beautiful creatures have ;and can feel some of the horrific things we put Wild life and for profit animals also. The author takes you right into the burrows. We have owned one for years . Our great nephew s mom ask us to send books. They live in the country. Best book : movie was good ,could have been done better but we’ll take what we can get.

  • Liked it!

Book was in great condition when it arrived. Short stories about Rabbit lore (parts I & II) eluded to in the Watership Down novel, with last section (part III) composed of stories about the honeycomb warren rabbits (Hazel, Bigwig, and the gang).

  • Must read for for Watership Downs and Richard Adams fans

I recently discovered the world Adams created for Watership Downs. The adventure a group of rabbits undertake when their home is about to become destroyed. Tales is the further adventures off Hazel, fiver, bigwig and the other creatures of the woods. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 books and wish Adams was still with so he could write a third. Chris
