    Great SAS card for expanding your sata port purpose.

    Great SAS card for expanding your sata port purpose. you can get 8 more sata ports using this card. Speed is just fast enough for 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM HDDs, but not for SSDs or RAID 0 fast HDD setups. I am very satisfied with this card

    Great HBA

    Arrived brand new, in protective ESD bag. Easily flashed with latest LSI firmware and optional BIOS. Both IT and IR modes avail for flashing. SATA 2 only, which is perfectly fine for any hard drive on the market. For SSD though it would be a bottleneck. Also max 2TB drives are supported by this LSI older chipset. Excellent card with lots of LEDs on PCB itself and two on the back side (bracket), also external LED pin header is avail. Great, good value!

    LSI SAS Controller

    It is a very good and fast SAS controller. It has no (or not too much) onboard RAM so it is not a RAID card. I'm using it for linux and btrfs/zfs.

    I was able to flash it into IT mode under Windows 10 and use it basically as more sata ports for FreeNAS. It works great and has added more bays for me to use! Very affordable too, definitely would recommend
