Synopsis
Eugene Cernan is a unique American who came of age as an astronaut during the most exciting and dangerous decade of spaceflight. His career spanned the entire Gemini and Apollo programs, from being the first person to spacewalk all the way around our world to the moment when he left man's last footprint on the Moon as commander of Apollo 17. Between those two historic events lay more adventures than an ordinary person could imagine as Cernan repeatedly put his life, his family and everything he held dear on the altar of an obsessive desire. Written with New York Times bestselling author Don Davis, this is the astronaut story never before told - about the fear, love and sacrifice demanded of the few men who dared to reach beyond the heavens for the biggest prize of all - the Moon., Eugene Cernan is a unique American who came of age as an astronaut during the most exciting and dangerous decade of spaceflight. • Great Historic read

Fascinating and historic account of man’s final journey of the generation to the moon. Recounts the many strides made since Armstrong’s first visit 3 years earlier.

  • A great biography of an American Hero.

Gene Cernan was an American Original. His biography is full of details that most people don’t know about the Apollo space program written from the perspective of a sometimes all-too-eager test pilot. He doesn’t hide from his mistakes and he celebrates his triumphs. And although the title makes reference to him being the last man to step off the lunar surface (Jack Schmitt technically is the last man on the Moon, being the 12th and final Moon Walker), his story is extremely compelling. Definitely a page turner.

  • The Last Man On The Moon.

The Last Man On The Moon is a fantastic book on Astronaut Gene Cernans life and the Americian, Soviet Space Race of the 1960S and 70s. I loved this book from start to finish. Being from Australia I didn't know that much about the later Apollo missions after Apollo 11. Great stuff. I have always loved reading about The Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Programs, so interesting. I love reading The Apollo Moonwalkers Bios. I have become a Gene Cernan fan for sure. Thankyou Mr Cernan for a wonderful read and my copy is hand signed also, with the Event Flyer too. Awesome.
