Fantastic, low cost, very useful item.
Had one of these when I was a kid (now in my 60's). It finally gave up the ghost recently approximately 45 years old! Fantastic and easy to use and outlived all other types I've ever had . Got a pack of 2 so I am confident they will outlive me!

Nothing Like The Real Thing
I bought a 2 pack specifically for opening those round flat pie tins, as we have yet to buy an "ordinary" can opener that can tackle them. I started opening a tin with one but within seconds I had a Uri Geller experience - the opener bent into a u shape and the hinge pin worked its way out. I threw that 1 in the stingies and used the second 1. Same again, with a bruised thumb and cramp in my fingers for the effort required. I did open the tin, using 2 "ordinary" can openers, a knife and the remains of the 2 "survival" openers. Result - 1 open can, 2 totally useless openers and 1 thoroughly confused human male with 3 unopened pies in the cupboard. Unfortunately, these openers are nothing like the real thing. My advice is to spend more and buy a real one and I can assure you that I will be ... Being ex British army my wife always had a couple of these in the kitchen draw and wouldn't use anything else to open a tin with. She was devastated when I accidentally threw away the last one. So pleased that we found such good replacements. She has said I can come out the doghouse now.

Soft metal
After having one of these can openers for many years I’m disappointed to say the least. The price was cheep and I’ve got what I paid for. Soft metal that bent to make it unusable after just 3 attempt to take the lid off.
