It’s a rat trap and you’ve been caught!
It took less than 5 minutes for the first trap to kill a rat! I have 4 boxes with traps in and regularly get 3 kills a night. Easy to bait and set. The corpse can be disposed of without handling it by using the pull cord release. Larger animals can't get in to trigger it but a juvenile hedgehog might.
