Good basic kit.
Good solid piece of kit that's easy to.put together. Adjustment range allows for good resistance range and the bike clips easily in and out for immediate road use as well.

Doesn’t work with Mountain Bikes.
I was full of enthusiasm looking forward to this, which quickly turned to dismay when I saw the little diagram in the instructions which indicated that a smooth tyre was a prerequisite. My wheel size is 29” and I’ve had to buy another tyre off the net to fit that instead, advertised as 29” when it says on the packaging 28”. Pretty frustrating experience this. So just worth noting, you may need a new rear wheel/tyre if you want to use this with a non road bike.

Excellent when it worked
The tacx blue magic turbo trainer is robust and easy to set up out of the box. The replacement qr skewer ensures the bike is stable. All of the mechanical parts are, or at least seem to be good quality, only time will tell. The electronic components on the other hand are at best unreliable. Bluetooth and ant+ both worked for the first 15 minutes then started to only provide data sporadically. I did manage to get a 1hr 20min ride without problem. And it has not worked since! It will not wake itself up and there is no physical switch to turn on or off. Overall very disappointed. I await a response from tacx to see what the problem is. I will update this review as and when I get information. I do hope this helps someone make an informed decision regarding purchasing this item. It may be that I am just unlucky with a faulty unit, but a quick search of the forums suggests this may not be the case.

Heavy, so stable with bike fitted.
Very easy to set up frame, just needed to fit the supplied rear wheel fixing to the hub. All good when tested.
