The former small rubber switch cover seal had partly perished with frequent use by rubbing against the underlying plastic button. I did not think such a simple replacement existed. I had tried to make a home-made seal, but it was hopeless. New seal is easily fitted. No need to dismantle switch assembly at all so do not "overthink" the job. It only takes seconds. Avoid cutting the product by using a small blade or screwdriver ! Combined with an LED bulb, another up-grade, it is effectively a new torch with improved performance. You might think it it is expensive for such a small rubber item, but is is a highly cost effective purchase and restores a well-made product to specification of any current model at a fraction of the retail price.

Good quality product... does exactly what it's supposed to do, an no real complaints. I just can't shake the nagging feeling that it's quite expensive for what is essentially a small piece of moulded rubber. That said... if you want your Maglite back in A1 condition it's probably worth it.
