I do not find that these headphones are "too tight", which concerned me after reading several negative reviews. I've had mine on for at least 2 hours straight (at times) and never noticed any pain whatsoever. Maybe some of us drummers have bigger than average melons?!? Anyway, my pea-brain hasn't noticed any discomfort. The sound quality could be better when listening to tracks or your mp3 player, but hey folks... these are not high-end phones. If you're like me and use a click-track a ton... sound quality isn't a major concern anyway. I had also read complaints that the sound volume (via mp3 player) was too low, but I disagree completely. I've played with both my iPhone and my Zune player... never had to even come close to maxing them out. In my opinion, if you can't hear enough outside sound with these on (and a click track or mp3 connected)... you need to re-evaluate your group's sound levels. The noise canceling characteristics are actually better than I anticipated, which was really what I was looking for. I priced in-ear montiors with custom molded gels, and decided it was just too much money at this time. If you are in a similar boat... these are a decent option. If you simply use stock in-ear phones (I have used several types over the years) these phones are a MUCH better option! I'm quite pleased.Read full review
I absolutely love the new design not only because of the improved fit, but also the vastly improved sound, esp. in terms of accuracy and mids and lows (which we need to hear as drummers). They are not overly bass-y either. Best option in this price point. HOWEVER, this new version is far less durable that the original. There is a problem with the wiring that starts to arise if you accidentally tug on the cable. But there is a fix for this that can be found on YuTbe that is very easy, and basically rectifies the problem (even if just temporarily), allowing you to enjoy these for years.

So my main reason for purchasing these headphones was to protect my hearing since I had been blasting my music really loud in order to hear while playing drums. I actually had my original headphones (Sony MDR-XD100)plugged into computer speakers that were connected to another set of speakers and even with both speakers set at near maximum volume, it was still difficult to hear. I tried out these headphones and I was quite amazed and how well they work. They almost completely drown out the sound of the drums and allowed me to listen to music at a significantly lower volume than what I had set previously. Specifically, the high pitch sounds of the snare drum and cymbals are barely heard. Yes, this was quite shocking. These headphones were even more effective than actually mute pads. The only drum components that could be heard the most were the toms and bass drum, but even then the sound was still very minimal. The only downfall I can say about these headphones is that they work too well. When playing along with music, no matter how hard you play, you can barely hear yourself. In my opinion it's important to hear the sound you produce because every drummer has a different sound even on the same kit. Also, when you can't hear yourself playing, you tend to try and play harder, which may cause you to become stiff and in turn negatively affect your technique. In my case, I might actually stick to my old headphones for the time being. However, if you feel that your hearing is starting to go, I sugguest getting these headphones.Read full review
I was expecting these to act like the Vic Firth noise cancelling cans I already had except with the added benefit of it being a pair of headphones as well. Unfortunately they were not like that, mainly in the way that they fit over the ears, but all in all they are pretty decent. Should work well for in the studio. Might consider getting the new version of these if they work out.

Honest review here. I’ve been using these headphones for a week now and I gotta say buying these things has made me love drumming even more. They dampen the sound just enough to where you can hear your drums and music perfectly. They even somehow make my kit sound better with them on. Yeah sound quality isn’t anything compared to a $200 pair of headphones, but for drumming they’re perfect. So definitely overall a 5 star buy. Plus Frank Ocean wore these exact pair of headphones live a few months back so you know they gotta be good haha
