We bought these to add to our existing Panasonic chordless phones, so we could use the intercom in every room. The sound quality is very good, they were easy to set up, they look very nice, the intercom works very well. As with all chordless phones, I wish they were shaped like traditional landlines which are more comfortable to hold.

I had older model Panasonic cordless phones that finally stopped working correctly, and after reading reviews and comparing features and prices, I ordered a two handset set of this phone and then realized that I needed a third handset. Easy to install/set up. Uses standard sized (AAA size) NiMH rechargeable batteries (included) which are not proprietary (i.e., not specific to that model but are in general use) and can be obtained generally from many third party sources. Only the Base unit requires a phone jack. The extension units only require an AC power plug. You can add (optional proprietary) extension phones units to the system which also do not require a phone jack....only an AC plug.
