Bought this 'phone for my wife. the important features for her, are good reception and clarity of speech when 'phoning. (which some 'phones are very poor at!, but Sony Ericsson always seem to be top marks at.) Also has a large, clear screen; Easy to navigate menu options, etc. and top quality Radio and Music playability. She is very pleased with it, finds it easy to use and enjoys listening to music on etc. If there is a downside it is that battery life is substantially less than her previous 'phone (also a Sony-Ericsson). But the screen is a lot bigger and therefore obviously uses more energy. Overall, the phone meets all her mobile 'phone needs. So very happy with it.
The Sony Ericsson Spiro W100 looks fantastic and very modern in terms of it's design. When viewed in the flesh though, it starts to disappoint immediately. The cheap plastic casing feels cheap and the general build quality is extremely poor. I used to love Sony Ericsson mobile phones as they were made so well with decent materials. Not any more it appears. In terms of usage, the Track ID function is very clever as it can identify a music track in seconds so that you know who it is by. It even gives you the option of buying the track online. Sending text messages is relatively simple although trying to get the sturdy plastic buttons to respond quickly is virtually impossible. The main issue that I have with this phone is the Security Options. You can set the phone up eith a PIN number so that it locks the phone keypad to prevent accidental use or mainly to stop someone else using it should you accidentally lose it, like most mobile handsets allow you to do nowadays. The major flaw with this phone however is that all you have to do to unlock it is to slide the phone open WITHOUT it asking you for the security PIN number! So should someone steal it from you, anyone can access and use the phone. It is for that sole reason that I have stopped using the phone and it is currently sat back in its packaging unwanted and unused. Overall this phone would ideally be suitable for a young teenager to use as it is a very reasonably priced handset and would not cost a parent a fortune to buy. The main concern for me though is that the quality of it is so poor, I really do wonder how long this model will last before malfunctioning.Read full review
This phone does the job, with an ok camera and video. Being Sony the walkman is great although the sound is not very loud, sometimes you just want to rock! The internet is ok using phone connection (no wifi) it does not support flash though so most online videos and games cannot be played. The software for windows is good for pictures, video and music transfers. bluetooth connectivity again is ok but no voice commands for accessing the phoneboobk etc
I bought this phone because I was looking for something small and simple to use. I'm not very technically minded so this wee phone is ideal for me. It is very simple to use and looks great. It has all the basic functions and also has a nice clear screen. It is a nice looking phone. This is a walkman phone and the sound quality is excellent. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who is only looking for something simple and easy to use.
I bought this phone for my boyfriend as he needed a new phone and also wanted an MP3 player and iv'e had a lot of Sony Ericsson Walkman phone's and always been thrilled with them. This phone is great exept every now and again it switches it's self off and wont come back on, we have to fiddle with it and it makes life difficult especially as he needs his phone as im currently pregnant. wouldnt buy it again as it is not reliable.
