The lettering is easily scratched off and the aluminum has no trace of etching or engraving on it. The plate came fast and with the correct info & It will work for the purpose if it is put in a place that sheilds it from stuff rubbing against it. Would not recommend this to a friend. Tag is laser engraved powder coated aluminum. This material is UV stable and solvent resistant including acetone. Aluminum is not scratch resistant, however marking cannot be rubbed off.
