    Very good product for the money.

    I have owned other external mini-drives, but this is the most quiet. With 2 TB storage it is also larger than the other devices. they seem to be pretty rugged with the silicone. The speed is also good on USB as well. It might be too large to drop into your shirt pocket, but a small case makes carrying a breeze. Plus you have the cables to store as well.

    Protection and Storage Space

    I've been using the drive for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I have a laptop at work and I keep my personal files on the external drive, so it travels with me where ever I go, as well as from home to work on a daily basis. The rubber bumper around it appears to provide a lot of protection which is important because I bicycle to work, so the LaCie rides in the upper pocket of my backpack. I feel safer having a protected drive with my files, just in case of an accident. Lots of people commented that theirs ran on the hot side - I don't notice that at all, except when I initially transferred over my files from my previous drive that this one is replacing. It got pretty warm during the heavy data transfer, but as a rule, it's quiet and cool.
