    Nice comms with the seller, and purchased at a good price. The drives arrived, individually wrapped in sealed anti static bags, inside a box. They look in excellent, unused condition. I haven't had a chance to fully test the drives yet as waiting for my enclosure to arrive. Plugged in one drive and had very low hours as described by the seller. Can't complain, especially with the warranty.

    Amazing NetApp DS2246 purchase!

    NetApp products are very good quality, hardy too these DS2246 and other DS models are made to last, utilise either a NetApp HBA or usual RAID card, however if write-though/IT mode is not available you may have trouble formatting the NetApp 520Byte FS verses usual 512Byte for utilisation within non-NetApp fillers. However that's an easy change which you could readily find out about on YouTube. These units do start noisy but honestly after a minute or two the noise drastically drops, infact a 1U infiniband switch makes more noise overall! Limited to 6G throughput but that's controller and IOM6 based, just get yourself some SSD cache/sorting online and you are in for a winner over 10G ETH or even QDR, FDR and such Infiniband.
