The VP-729 scaler was bought to replace various scalers/adaptors etc that I use to connect retro games consoles to a modern TV. A great bit of kit that is perfect for connecting pretty much everything I have then linking to a TV with a single HDMI connection. Very pleased with it - the Dreamcast picture looks particularly good scaled up from it's native resolution.

Nice but not as versatile as it might be
Nice scaler but not as versatile as I'd like. Rather than give options for position and horizontal and vertical zoom, it doesn't offer them where the input res is equal to the output res. Yes it scales the image nicely but give us all the functionality rather than grey it all out because you think that is what we want.
