    A cult film that wastes its quality cast.

    The strength of this film is the inclusion of Harry Dean Stanton in the cast. Unfortunately he's not utilised anywhere near enough and if the story had stuck to him, his job and the characters he encountered it would have been a much, much better film. The subplot with the Government agency and the mysterious car is ludicrous and ultimately carried off in such an amateurish way that it ruins the film. Alex Cox is not a director who can reign in his silly excesses, and this film suffers. Disappointing
