The key is the metal axle pins; they need to be clipped into the prongs in the interior door that covers the film as it travels across the film gate. This holds the roll of film correctly in place so it doesn’t jam, a problem I’ve seen bloggers complain about. It’s still a tedious process to load, and takes care and skill to advance the film correctly, but it works, and the photos are worth it.
