NB It is not easy to remove the old lift without specific tools (which I was unable to find on the net anyway) - it was there since 15 years ! - but it's worth the time and effort, chair is like new now for a fraction of its cost. And thanks also to the seller for helping by email - I had missed the final adjustment instructions that was provided.

Resorted to a big hammer to remove the old one from the base and the new one was fitted in about 15 secs, with a small adjustment to the actuator it worked perfectly! A+++
