Fab game
I first came across this game on my nintendo DS and was hooked. To play it with friends though i needed to buy the real thing. This version of the game is fantastic. It is really compact and well thought out. I read on another review that it was difficult to open the plastic lid which was a worry but in fact if you slide your thumb nail into the gap between the case and lid you only have to lift gently and there is no problem. It arrived in two days so full marks all roundI first came across this game on my nintendo DS and was hooked. To play it with friends though i needed to buy the real thing. Brilliant game - if you can get the lid off!
Love playing Boggle with friends so decided to buy the travel version to take away on holiday. Neat little plastic container holds all the cubes and the egg timer fits in the lid. And that's where it all goes wrong! It may be just me but I have a devil of a job getting the lid off! Infuriating design which I hope to crack on my week away. Also it would be nice if the instructions fitted inside too. Used my origami skills to slide it under the egg timer. Overall a fun game but the travel version is badly designed. It's a game that can produce a result in under 5 minutes, is fun, challenging and educational. One can play as many rounds as one wishes building up a score. An electronic timer would be beneficial s the traditional egg timer can distract and can led to "discussions" as to whether the sand has actually run out or not!! I have had my Boggle set for over30 years and bought a new set for an elderly friend.It's a game that can produce a result in under 5 minutes, is fun, challenging and educational. Our 20-plus-year-old 'Boggle' has been commandeered by our youngest grandchild. It's still a favourite with visitors old and young (much competition to be granted the liberty to do the noisy shake-up!) so recently we've been looking out for a replacement. We expected this version to be a real 'economy' job but it's full size; only the cardboard box and the space for paper are omitted. All's well again. Just two minor points - not important to everyone, of course. The transparent lid clips on, but I wonder how soon we'll be using an elastic band.
