      sturdy and reliable

      Apart from the material on which you put your foot coming away from the metal, the product did what a pump should do, ie pump up the tyre and show the pressure reached. The positive delivery of air to the tyre (the pump is new) had a good feel to it. I particularly liked the mrans of securing the pump in a lock-down position. The nozzle was new to me but I read the instructions to find out how to use it! Glue the material to the metal and you have a winner. It even looks good!

      The plastic locking buttons let the pump down.

      I already have older AA foot pump so I knew what to expect. The design of the old pump had sliding locking buttons either side to close the pump tight when not in use. These work well, but this one has poorly designed plastic buttons that lock and are cable tied to the frame. With usage they will break off and be lost so are not fit for purpose. The rest of the pump is fine from a quality viewpoint. The footpad is grommeted to the frame so should be ok.

      Heavy Duty?

      It does work. However, I do not consider it heavy duty, which to me suggests something above and beyond the norm. In particular, the rubber anti-slip pad you place your foot on is not secured to the pump frame well enough. I was also not too impressed with the way it attaches to the valve. I have had easier-to-use attachments. It was purchased for emergencies only and for this it is OK.

      Could be better designed!

      Being an AA product I thought it would be well made. Unfortunately the plastic twist studs that hold the foot pedal in place are poor. They are connected to the frame with a very thin bit of plastic which snapped off the first time I used it., so now have one loose stud and one connected. Found the connecting valve difficult to use as it operates the opposite way to most other foot pumps I have used

      Disappointing

      Went for this pump as it claimed to be heavy duty, and carried an AA brand - I wanted a pump that would last. Straight out of the box, one of the plastic clips that hold it closed was broken, and the valve head was leaking. Will not be buying another one.
