    "A little cheesy but entertaining"

    Worth a buy if you can get it cheap. This cult sci-fi movie has an interesting story; what if a modern aircraft carrier were to somehow go back to December 7, 1941? I won't spoil it, but its not that bad.

    USS Nimitz CVN-68 hurtled to destiny. December 6th 1941

    An exciting 'what if' movie. what if the Modern USS Nimitz was time warped back to just before one of the US Military's darkest days? It's engaging, and is a good vehicle for Kirk Douglas, back in his prime, and James Farentino does a credible job as the character at the crux of the drama. Martin sheen adds a dimension of an outsider as a Department of Defence/Private Contractor along for the ride. All in all a very good sci-fi film, and a pre-Top Gun look at modern carrier operations.

    An interesting scenario

    I heard about this movie when it was new and I rented it many years ago. Now it's good to have a copy for myself, to watch anytime I want. The whole idea is intriguing, a modern aircraft carrier going through a freak storm and ending up off Hawaii on Dec. 6, 1941. What should the crew do? If they attack the Japanese fleet how would it change history?
