Great amp.
So far so good. Only issue at the moment, it keeps going into protection mode. Could be an issue of my trunk space has no air circulation. Prob will mount a small fan in there to help keep it cool. Should solve the prob. Since everything is connected within specs. Nice clear sound. With the kicker component speakers, 6x9s, 6.5s, tweets, n 2 12" subs run parallel.

Goes into protect
So I bought this amp for my truck it sounds good but goes into protect for no reason, I have made sure that nothing is grounding out and the all the impedance are correct on all speakers. It will go an hour sometimes and then the next in will be within a min.. poor build quality! But I guess thIs what you get for 120.00 bucks. And by the way I did install car audio for several years, at both Quality auto sound and Car toys.So I bought this amp for my truck it sounds good but goes into protect for no reason, I have made sure that nothing is grounding out and the all the impedance are correct on all speakers. Surprising performance for the money!
I've been in to car audio since the mid 1980's and as you could guess, I've owned or used everything from budget gear to high end hi-res equipment. The Planet Audio AC1800.5 is a budget oriented 5 channel class AB amplifier with high/low crossovers, bass boost and a bass remote control. It has a rather large mounting footprint around 10 1/2 inches wide and 20 inches long. This is fairly large compared to today's smaller footprint amps. Now, don't count this amp out if you're on a budget. It shines in a couple of areas. The power output on channels 1-4 is strong enough to run door/dash or rear deck speakers without any drama and will do so very cleanly. The 5th channel is designed to run bass at an ohm load as low as 2 ohms. The 5th channel is strong enough to run 2 4 ohm woofers or a ... Being the amp is fairly large, it has a lot of heatsink to dissipate heat. I've ran the amp moderately hard for several hours and it has not so much as blinked in any way. If you use a decent amplifier wiring kit, good speakers and good installation techniques you should get great service from this amp. Take your time to properly set the gain and crossover controls. I don't have any issue with suggesting this amp to anyone on a budget looking for decent performance and great reliability.

Good amp for the money
Purchased this amp to replace a Logic7 amp with 9 channels in a BMW. Amp performs great and sounds better than the $1,400 OE amp, partially because of the high wattage. The amp does run hot in 2 ohm but hasn't gave me any problems. The only thing I dislike is the massive size which makes it hard to mount.

prior to this amp purchase, I went out on a limb and bought the Planet Audio 5000 watt class D to run the 4 planet audio 12" subs that I bought. I was worried about the quality because it is a lessor known product. After that sub amp install and the test run for a few months, I found that Planet Audio has some dang good amps. I bought this 1800.5 to run all my door speakers and an extra set of Cerwin Vega 10" subs. these two amps combined is very deafening and really causes some ear pain if listened to at high volume. The sound is clean and clear and almost worthy of an SPL competition if you ask me. For a budget amp, these things far outperform any budget amp I have ever heard. I would place these amps in a category with Autotek and Rockford Fosgate. These are big, bulky, heavy and well ... prior to this amp purchase, I went out on a limb and bought the Planet Audio 5000 watt class D to run the 4 planet audio 12" subs that I bought. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these amps.
