Ranging reticle makes for more fun than a normal monocular
The ranging reticle makes this monocular so much more fun to use than a normal monocular. I was hesitant about getting the Vortex Solo RT's over the normal Solo monocular, but I'm so glad I did. You can gauge a distance pretty accurately, very easily. The eye relief and exit pupil, together with the coated optics, quick focus, and ideal focal range for a short monocular (to avoid shake) are all brilliant. The eye cup helps too. The case is better than often mentioned online, as I think Vortex probably took the criticism onboard and made changes. I'm surprised how much pleasure this monocular has given me, and I'm even more surprised that I still really enjoy calculating distances using the ranging reticle. Great little scope
Ok, so perhaps a stretch to call it pocket sized but a comfortable fir in the hand and easy to focus for excellent viewing. Slightly tricky to adjust with one hand but that is the only quibble. Has already become a staple on all my walks.

I love the soft rubber outer and optics are much better than I would expect with minimal peripheral distortion, though a bit expensive.
