    While they are quite pricey and extremely delicate, a good, wide blade will easily shave multiple days off of any skim job by sheer virtue of the massive decrease in porosity you won't have to come back and touch up with additional coats. You can easily get a really craggy wall into a level of flatness no landlord would ever complain about and genuine flawlessness can be achieved with only a bit more effort.
