Ah, Crash Bandicoot. How you have grown. From simply spinning away enemies and jumping on them, to using a variety of moves including using Cortex's head, to this. The lovable Bandicoot has grown up so much. Let's start with the story: To leave out real spoilers, Cortex is at it again, but this time finally takes back his throne as head of the operation, which Uka Uka took away in the 3rd PS1 game. He teams up with his old ally, N-Brio, to make a device which retakes control of all mutants on the island and also Crunch and Coco, Crash and Aku Aku's allies. Now for the gameplay: You start out with every move you earned back in Crash of the Titans. Your mileage may vary on how this is. It could take some fun out of it by not earning them, or could be nice to let you have access to the moves in the beginning. Just like in Crash of the Titans, you can take over Mutants: Large, mutated monsters that are a fusion of an animal and element (ice, electricity)or two animals (Scorporilla is a prime example). Each of them have a handful of attacks, but each attack is different, important for fighting, and some even have puzzle elements which spices things up. There are Voodoo dolls you can collect to unlock concept art, including some from an art contest which has art from fans. There's also battle arenas where you fight in 10 selectable rounds of enemies and unlock a costume, and Golden Wumpa Fruit. Wumpa Fruit have been a staple of the series as health or collectibles for lives, and here, the Golden variation extends your life bar (they were lives in the previous games). Overall, there's a lot of replayability for a game this size. There are a variation of Titans called Hero Titans. These have more powerful attacks overall, sometimes more health and other small changes. Some appear through the story, some after. Speaking of which, there's 2 or 3 mini missions you can do after the game is over. The soundtrack is very good. Catchy and light music that is in tune with Crash's style. The voice acting has improved from the last game and doesn't have even a line out-of-character. The story tone is made for kids and is a bit childish. The story is also rather forgettable in it's execution. If you want to play a game for a story, this is not for you. The graphics, for the year and console, are phenomenal. If you want to compare, this for the PS2 are what Metal Gear Solid 4 is for the PS3. At least to some extent. For the PS2, this has a lot of detail, though the Wii and Zbox versions do have reflections in the water and model differences for the Hero Titans. Overall, this is a great game and recommendable to any fun-loving Crash game, casual gamer or newcomer to the series.Read full review
It's my favorite game, because crash bandicoot is my favorite game series. It's been my favorite ever since I was a child, because my brother had crash bandicoot 2 cortex strikes back when he had a PlayStation. Also, it's a free roaming game.

This is a really good game. For its time it was really advanced as it has an open world where you can goo back and forth with your missions. Tons of side missions and Easter eggs that make you fo back to red game over and over. Doesn't matter that this game is over 10 years its still worth your attention
