    A decent anthology of a fantastic band

    This compilation CD has many of the best songs produced by the fantastic and groundbreaking pioneers of mope-rock, The Smiths. There is not a bad song in the lot, though some die-hard fans will argue with some of the selections and/or omissions. It would surely serve as a great introduction to the band for someone unfamiliar with their work. In my case, I have many of their original LPs but wanted something convenient to play in the car and this fit the bill very nicely. The liner notes add some decent background info on the band, and sound quality of the collection is quite good.

    A nice compilation of the 1980's band from the U.K., "The Smiths"

    This compact disk is very good. If you like alternative music, this band fits that genre. I bought this product because I had an opportunity to get to listen to their music on my current cable television subscription. They play the music a lot and after hearing a few of their songs, I was interested and liked this band. This compact disk has 23 songs and was very reasonably priced $8.67. Most compact disks are in the $13-$15 range and have between 10-16 songs. This was a band from the 1980's, If you liked Morrissey in the 1990's when he had his solo career, you'll like this compact disk. It showed how an artist developed from controversial beginnings to a respected solo artist. A great set of songs and entertaining to listen to!
