Such a brilliant film, timeless and engaging. The handsome Heathcliff plays some very moving scenes. Supported by David Niven, these two young good looking talented actors are well cast to secure this film as a true timeless classic.

An evergreen film that's still very enjoyable
It's old and monochrome, yet it's very watchable. Laurence Olivier's portrayal of Heathcliffe is the best I've seen - I found him mesmerising. As with all old films, there's none of the special effects we've come to expect these days, but to be honest, if this had been possible it would have spoilt the film. Nothing can compare to the book, and it does stray from the novel in parts, but nevertheless it's extremely enjoyable to watch.It's old and monochrome, yet it's very watchable.
