About this product

Product Information

This science fiction launch title for the PSP focuses on combat action. Players take control of an android battling to reach the top levels of a dungeon-like tower, full of strange creatures and other enemies. As they progress through the game, players win new parts and earn new abilities for their android. Such upgrades are limited, however, so it's important to choose the right improvement at the right time. Multiplayer competition is supported, for up to four players, through the PSP's wireless connection features. Players can also wirelessly trade android upgrades they've collected.

  • Pretty good game, worth the around ten dollars it usually goes for.

The point is that killer androids are climbing the tower of purgatory. That alone was enough for me to buy it. It's a third person shooter style game with fast action and a huge variety of parts. Lots of replay value due to the randomness of the levels, though there are a few major flaws that make this not nearly as good as the sequel. If you're the kind of person that can't play the second game in a series without playing the first, then you won't regret buying this, but if you're just looking for a great game for PSP to play, you're better off buying the second one, especially since the prices aren't too far apart.

  • This game is awesome

I see a few reasons people might have problems with this game. 1. The controls. Yes, it doesn't use the analog nub, BUT the D-pad controls work just fine. People have managed to use the D-pad for movement for over a decade; all of a sudden it makes a game unplayable? Yeah right. Trust me, you'll get used to the controls after 15 minutes. 2. Too many things to keep track of. Yes, this game doesn't have a learning curve, it just starts you off in the thick of things right away. Guess what? There is an instruction manual that comes with it. Read it first, it will greatly help you understand what's going on. The game's amount of customization is amazing. If you spend 10 minutes to figure out what everything is (or just read the manual), then you'll be set. Rengoku has tight and fast paced ...

  • Waste of time

I decided to buy this game cause i needed something to play while flying this holiday season and it was one of the cheapest available, interesting looking games on ebay. Well, I was right about the price but wrong about the interesting part. This game is Bad. Stay away from it unless you like simplistic robotic shoot, hack and slash. The gameplay is stiff and artificial. I know you are controlling an android, but still. You use the D-Pad to move and whatever direction you press is the direction they go, which is whats supposed to happen, but movement is so sharp and lifeless. Who or what makes immediate 90 degree turns? And the combat is lame and uninspired. They tried something creative by having you be able to equip a different weapon to different parts of your body and control each of ...
