I used to use one of these at work and found it very useful so when I retired I looked out for one and brought this one.It comes with a jack plug to fit a mains power suply to save on batteries. No where on the instruction leaflets do Brother tell you you can do this,I did contact the seller and they were most surprised they could have done this. I would strongly advise getting a power suply as it is not a machine you would use on a large scale,leave batteries in it and when you DO want to use it 99.95% you will get it out and find the batteries flat!! I broughy my supply via Amazon as it seemed cheaper than all the rest BUT they charged me a lot for postage. I would recomend buying direct form "Digidave" who are based in Gurnsey they have been very helpful. Do not try and use just any old supply you might have around, it need at lease a output power of one Amp,more important the "Tip" of the plug must be NEGATIVE,not Posative as most supply are. Again "Gigidave" sell a tip converter (very neat) that you can just fit into the machine and when you fit your posative tip power supply it changes it to a negative supply and you then do not have to fit SIX high power batteries in the machine. These are older machines but their seeems to be a lot of people selling the tapes on E-bay. The instructions are not the eaisiest to follow but I am a 73 year old,not a "technocrat" and canot spell! Better than expected good clear print easy to use but always take batteries out if not using if they leak mother board is underneath sadly reason for my new purchase
