About this product

Product Information

Phoenix Wright prepares for his final courtroom appearance in Trials and Tribulations for Nintendo DS. The defense attorney with a flair for the dramatic must outwit coffee-guzzling lead prosecutor Godot, who wants nothing more than to prove Wright wrong. To help win each case, players must once again collect evidence, interview suspects, examine crime scenes, and find inconsistencies in witness testimonies. The second game's "psyche-lock" system returns, where the goal is to reveal a character's hidden secrets during interrogation. Trials and Tribulations adds the ability to participate in earlier events in the Ace Attorney timeline, including the opportunity to play as Mia Fey in two of the game's five pivotal cases. The play mechanics are otherwise the same as in previous titles, with the touch-screen interface used for the investigation phase, and the microphone used to say (preferably with feeling) "objection" or "hold it!" during the climactic courtroom phase.

  • General overview from a fan of the series

*This review refers to the overall series, and it does not spoil any plot points of any of the games.* I LOVE this game! Phoenix (the main character) and his various comrades are a really likable cast of characters, and as the stories unfold throughout each game their personalities really get a chance to develop. Even your rivals, the prosecutors, have their own stories to share, and each 'backstory' ties in with a different case. I think my favorite character of the series is actually NOT Phoenix (although his snarky sense of humor cracks me up), but instead the hapless detective Gumshoe who appears throughout the series. (As his name suggests, you can never quite get rid of him.) As for the gameplay itself, it really kept me on my toes. I never knew how each case was going to turn ...

  • The best game in the series, with surprises throughout!

First and foremost, this is a review of the Japanese version (which has English language option) though the only difference is the 1% of typos that will be fixed in the USA release. If you haven't heard of Phoenix Wright before, steer clear of this game, because it's the 3rd (and last) in the series; you should play the 1st and 2nd games before playing this one. This game feels and plays just like the first two, so if you're expecting some radical changes to the gameplay, you'll be disappointed. Fortunately, the cases are all extremely well done, and you get to play as some other characters, which is very cool. The music has been partly redone by a different composer, and is great. The best part is the story, which goes to the past and future, and reveals more characters and ...

  • Best of the original AA trilogy

I bought this game because I'd already bought and played the previous two titles and had a blast with it. This one was even more fun than the other two, and out of the three main "Ace Attorney" titles (not including Apollo Justice), this one is, by far, the most fun and amazing one to me. A lot of people think the games have little to no replay value because it is too "linear", but personally, I think they have a lot of replay value, although you may have to wait a while in between playing the games. It's a treat seeing how the characters act in each situation (especially Phoenix) and the soundtrack is phenomenal. I think the only downsides to the game is the "linear" part, since it's not flexible for multiple endings or something like that; and it can get kind of boring just tapping the ...

  • Amazing game! The story will leave you speechless!

I bought this product to complete the first Ace Attorney trilogy which includes Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Ace Attorney: Justice For All, and finally Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations. This game is a fan favorite and exciting conclusion to an epic trilogy. I would recommend this to any fan, but I would also suggest this be the last of the Ace Attorney series they play as the series falls apart with a shoddy sequel Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney which is such a failure of a game and a huge disappointment, and let down. True fans however will be happy to know that the Ace Attorney Investigations series starring fan favorite, Miles Edgeworth is great spin off, and means it isn't the utter end of a great series. I would get that if you enjoyed the first three games. Do enjoy! And I ...
