flap says: there are 206 bones in the human body. forensic anthropologists knw them intimately, can red in them stories of brief or long lives and can use them to reconstruct every kind of violent end. the 12th temperance brennan novel from kathy reichs 206 bones open with tempe regaining consciousness and discovering that she is in some kind of enclosed space. she is bound hands to feet. is she buried alive. in some kind of cell. who wants tempe dead or at least out of the way and why. tempe begins slowly to reconstruct..... These are my personal pet peeves.... 1. I dislike flash back books..............it was hard to follow in the beginning. 2. the book was way too short 303 pages. 3. the characters avoided the ROMANCE between tempe and andy like the plague. it was highly annoying............. 4. her trying to ditch andy from the family gathering was annoying/hurtful.Read full review
I love listening to these stories when I drive. I can drive for 9 hours as long as I have a good story to listen to.

Just like all of her books this one is great. She tells the story in such an interesting way. She adds just the right touch of romance so that it keeps you wanting the characters to interact more but not too much. The true facts that are incorparted into the story are facinating expecially if you are into that sort of stuff as I am. I would definitely recommend this book for reading. I have now read all of her books and recommend reading them to all as well.
Great book . Starts out almost like one of the TV episodes but as you get reading you do find some differences. Kathy Reichs is a great writer, chapters just the right legnth for reading at lunch or even to just sit back and read. You are always wanting to pick the book back up to see what is going to happen next. Mystrey readers will enjoy the learning and the suspense.
I've been a Kathy Reichs fan since her first book. In 206 bones she sets a fast paced interesting story. She balances interesting facts with story and Temerance Brenan's relationship with Ryan. Well done.
I love Kathy Reichs and have read all of her books. This book did not disappoint me. Kathy Reichs take you through the accurate steps that a forensic anthropologist would use when solving a problem.
You get the feeling that this story is not going to end by the way Kathy drags it out..!!! But finally the truth is revealed, bit by bit, and you finally know who her enemy is..!! Past stories were more interesting than this one, sorry to say, too much detail in this one, made the story less interesting..
Could not find the book at the local library - not available in soft cover at the local bookstore. Cost was less than a soft cover version. When I finished the book I gave it to the local library.
I love her books. Can't wait for the next one. Wasn't really crazy about all the technical medical information, but I am beginning to like it more and more with each book.
