About this product

Product Information

Operation Darkness is a character-driven, tactical role-playing game, set during World War II. Players lead a team of supernaturally attuned British Special Forces agents on a mission to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Combat is turn-based, different characters have different specialties, and all characters gain experience toward leveling up when victorious in battle. Some team members can use magic to boost their defenses or attack enemies; others can take werewolf form to prevail in melee combat. In addition to Nazi soldiers, the team battles zombies, vampires, and other evil undead, along the way to the ultimate goal of Hitler himself.

  • great

The game is set during World War II but with an alternate history twist. Playing off Hitler's fascination with the occult, it pits a special unit against an army of Nazis - undead Nazis. Yep, the game has werewolves, zombies, and even vampires. The World War II market may be overcrowded, but Operation Darkness has definitely carved out its own home.

  • 🔥🔥 A must-own for Fire Emblem fans and collectors with fine taste!

It's amazing that this game exists! Fans of the grid-based strategy RPG genre are in for a treat. Excellent characters, hand drawn art, actual WWII footage mixed with in-game cutscenes with excellent voice acting allows the bizarre fantasy twist on real world history told in this story to shine brightly. It's the story and characters that along with the challenging yet addictive strategy gameplay that hooked me from start to finish with this game. There's nothing else out there quite like it and due to controversy with certain historical figures and political parties (I won't name them for fear that this review will be censored) this game was not released in Europe and had a very small print run in North America and Japan. This is the epitome of a cult classic hidden gem for the Xbox ...

  • Operation Darkness

The one thing I enjoyed about this game was the fact it was strategy-based, had history, and had magic on which you could use on multiple enemies. When you used magic, some of the graphics were good but not all. The missions were fairly interesting and so was the music but from mission 26 onward, the game became impossible to finish myself. If you played it, you would understand. I decided to buy it due to the fact that I played a demo of it and I became very interested in the game.

  • Great story but flawed mechanics

You fun will vary if you enjoy a tactical RPG, this one has a very difficult camera which often blocks your view.

  • great turn based tactics!

I really liked this game despite its poor reviews. It has fun turn based combat in a very unique setting! My only complaint is the way they ramp up the difficulty in the final three missions, it is too hard to finish.
