Very good hardcover. Tight binding, solid spine,cracks to hinges but holding well, clean unmarked text. Decorative gilt board and spine, deckled fore & bottom edge, 8vo, 130 pages. VOLUME TWO only of a two volume set. A gorgeous Art Nouveau Ex Libris Bookplate, by the English artist ROBERT ANNING BELL, for WALTER RALEIGH. signed in the plate R A BELL XXXVIII. This is the EXTREMELY RARE early large version, measuring approx. 3.5” x 5.75”. The bookplate is larger than, but matches one donated by Helen J. Stearns to the Currier Museum of Art.”
