    I just discovered these alphabet mysteries a few months ago, and since then have read or listened to quite a few. I enjoy them, so read them quite quickly. The character, Kinsey Millhone, is great and I like the use of the 1st person narrative in this case. What I really enjoy about all these novels is how she can take a case that looks impossible and get the information she needs to finally solve the thing and there's always a little excitement at the end, of course. This particular novel has been my favorite so far. The author takes you into the past so you can see the dynamics of the characters and mixes it with her present investigation. It doesn't get stale and hold the reader's interest. The thing I usually don't like about these novels is the amount of detail she uses to describe a ...

  • Love Sue Grafton and Kinsey Millhone!

    Kinsey is down to earth and very believeable. The audio tapes keep me entertained when I'm driving long distances, and keep me from experiencing impatience (read STRESS) with traffic in the city. A favorite for all time, I'll take any "alphabet mystery" by Sue Grafton I can get.
