Hard to Find Film in the US
This was killed by the reviewers at the time but still touches me. This fantastic period pice of the 1970's Olympic sprit. The film is believable as opposed to the current spate of contrived "reality" in recent years. The film reminds us the finishing is important and much more important than winning "at any cost". A film for runners.
The quality of the film wasn't brilliant, having been transferred from video to DVD, but it was watchable. It is the story of a runner whose family life suffers as the result of his dedication to the sport. A young Michael Douglas plays the main character,a role he plays quite well. The story is as much about relationships as it is about a man's single minded dedication to achieve his dream.
