    Fascinating Production - dire DVD

    Production values are minimal - this is about the quality of the actors and the text. That part: magnificent. Unfortunately the DVD is appalling - with a smeary, unfocused, washed-out image throughout.

    Macbeth - The Royal Shakespeare Company

    I bought this dvd as the original on video had disappeared from my video shelf. The attraction was not only the fact that this version of Macbeth was produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company, but that it cast Ian McKellen and Judi Dench as the lead roles. Additionally, having this on DVD appeals to myself as a teacher as I can move from one scene to the next at the touch of a button rather than fast forwarding!
