  • Not quite as beautiful as Hustle, but good nonetheless

    I bought this based on my appreciation of Stephen Chow's two magnificent films, Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, and found this to be more of the same comedy martial arts action. Not as big budget as the other two, but this film seems to travel further, with many different scenes. Like the Kung Fu scholar tournament, which comes 30mins into the film, not at the end which I had anticipated. Stephen Chow plays a similar character in all films, a lazy kung fu genius, unaware of his own abilities, and has a great charm whenever on the screen. His films are always different from the usual Hollywood kung fu fodder, like Seagal or Van Damme's usual offerings, and even the styles of kung fu are imaginative. One of the only downsides of this film was the anticlimactic ending, which isn't the 20 ...

  • Don't let the cover fool you

    I holded off from watching this movie for awhile but when I finally watched it I thought it was pretty good. The comedy is great the action is cool. It does change form the more traditional style of fighting to the mad flying about fighting later on as the movie progresses.
